Frequently Asked Questions

Is Leadership  and Career Coaching right for me?

Our confidential sessions are highly effective. Establishing clear goals and concentrating on what is important to you, will allow achievement of both immediate and longer term goals. This bespoke service will address your own unique needs. It will allow you to gain new insights, grow and develop as a professional and leader.  Being coached is very rewarding but it takes consistency, commitment and a sprinkling of courage to achieve your true potential. I will be there with you at every step, and support, challenge and keep you accountable to your goals. You will find confidence to create a new future for yourself.

What kind of questions do I bring to Coaching?

The questions or issues that arise are as unique as you are. They usually relate to one or more aspects of your professional life. These include (but are not limited to) growth and development as a leader, prioritisation, improving communication, career planning and next steps, work-life balance, setting boundaries, managing difficult emotions at work, self care and retirement planning.

How do I get started with coaching?

The first step is to book a free, confidential, no obligation Coaching Conversation online. This will allow us to get to know each other and work out if I am a good fit for you. I will also explore what you need from coaching and if you have an idea of any goals you might have. It lasts 30 minutes, please allow extra time in your diary so that we don’t have to rush to complete the consultation if we need a little longer.

If we agree to work together then we will set a date for our first session. I will then send you an online copy of our Coaching Agreement for you to check and sign. Once this is signed and returned to me, I will send you your invoice and some questions to help you to prepare for our work together in order for us to establish your coaching goals in your first session.

What should I expect from Coaching

We work together to identify what outcomes and goals you want from the coaching relationship at the start of the coaching process. We then meet online and I offer Zoom or Teams based coaching to clients across the UK and Internationally. My coaching sessions are usually about 45 minutes long, but I can be flexible according to your own needs. The sessions are designed to allow for reflection and for new neural connections to start to form. You will set your own practicable, attainable mini-goals at the end of each session. In-between sessions you put your agreed actions into practice, and start to make the changes you want to see in your life and career. We review these at the next conversation.

Session frequency varies according to your needs, though the initial sessions are usually 2-4 weeks apart. They can be more frequent for professionals needing to make decisions that are time-sensitive.

I currently offer Coaching in single sessions and blocks of 4 or 6 sessions. Leadership coaching is usually around 12 sessions over 9-12 months, with a minimum of 6 sessions. Career coaching is usually 4-6 sessions over a number of months.
